Early Years[]

Little is known about Apatite’s early history other than he was burned in Vacuo and began to study Political Science and was trained at a combat school.

When Apatite was 20 years old, he had his first child with Amethyst, Violet.  Due to Amethyst still training at Shade, Apatite primary raised Violet until Amethyst graduated.  As a result, she was forced to let the father raise Violet until graduation with Amethyst stopping by every so often to check up on them.

Also due to the pregnancy and young age, both families agreed to have Amethyst marry Apatite, now being in a forced marriage. However, despite this, she would still love Apatite and her daughter, though end up having a strained relationship with Apatite. After graduation she would continue to raise Violet with her now husband, whom with she had two sons.

According to Violet in “Violet of Vacuo”, her parents had a falling out which prompted Amethyst to leave and only visit rarely throughout the years.

Adult Life[]

Little is known about Apatite’s adult other than he was made a member of the Vacuo Council.

Troubles in Vacuo[]

After Beacon fell, Apatite was under heavy stress from the council to keep security in line for the kingdom.

One day, Apatite has a meeting with Professor Sienna Clayton to discuss matters of security across the kingdom when they are interrupted by Violet and Frederic Scorch.  Apatite embraces his daughter at the realization she is safe and gives her what she requested, a series of maps detailing the capital to the east coast.

Violet then makes her leave, leaving Apatite to work in his office.

While on the flight to the trading post, Violet discovers that Apatite, Blue, Nero and Sienna had all boarded the ship and were hiding below deck.  After getting a little upset, Violet has a conversation with her father about her mother.  After their talk, Llew informs them that they have arrived at the post.

After landing at the trading post, Fred decides that he and FLME should advance through to find the temple in order to keep Apatite and his children safe.  However, talks are cut short as Grimm, led by the Harrapari emerges from the desert.  The entire group fights them off and are able to receive some assistance when IsaacAmethyst and Bazaar emerge from a portal.  Fred soon realizes that the Harrapari is after him and thus leads it away with his team giving chase.

Apatite and his allies are able to stop the Grimm invasion from the trading post.  Once they are, he reunites with Amethyst and the two decide to make up for lost time and return home together with their sons.

Defense of Vacuo[]

Amethyst, Sienna and Apatite make their return in “Homebound” in which they are fighting a small band of Ombre soldiers.  Amethyst then begins to interrogate one which tells her about a mining operation further up north.  The soldier is silenced when Stier fires his cannon, killing the soldier and burning half of Amethyst’s face off.  The three then move back to the city for treatment with other huntsmen besides them.

At some point later, Apatite sends out a message alerting Vacuo forces that more raiders and mines have been found in the area known as Ortus.

May, Ember and the party move into Ortus and quickly encounter Apatite and Amethyst.  The groups all converge and everyone gets filled in.  However, Isaac wishes to begin fortifying Vacuo which results in some push back, mainly from MasonMarch and Apatite.  Because of that, Isaac storms out, leaving the rest to plan the next move.

Forming an Army[]

After Isaac enters the command tent of Fort Ortus, he orders the rest of his organization to meet with Ironwood.  As a result, May, Ember and the teams along with Evie and April are left behind to guard Ortus.  Upon arriving in Atlas, the group meets with Teams WIOWSSMR and Elsa again.  Olive confronts Mason on leaving Amber Square which resulted in a small conflict over leadership and killed Gorge.  Later all are seen inside Ironwood’s office trying to figure out the next move.

Ironwood refuses to move to Vacuo to assist under fear of a military presence and conflict, the same for Mistral.  Amethyst then suggest letting her transmit messages between each council to move for assistance.  As the group is in agreement, Isaac leaves.  Later that evening, Isaac continues to worry about the situation at hand until Bazaar reassures him along with Mason that everything will be fine.

Isaac and his group gear up and get ready to return to Vacuo when Qrow and Team WIOW appear in their room. Qrow issues them a good luck and WIOW agrees to join in the fight, but refuse to be held responsible if an international incident is to occur. Ironwood also arrives and issues orders to fill in Professor Theo of Vacuo on what has occurred in Atlas and Mistral since Beacon’s fall. Isaac mentions that with Ironwood and Apatite’s political power, they could make some backroom deals to better support the efforts in Vacuo.

Despite the two and Amethyst being offended, they let the issue slid and send Isaac off. However, before he leaves, Qrow tells him that he believes the situation will only worsen. After Isaac, Mason, March, Elsa, Bazaar, Amethyst, Apatite and Teams SSMR and WIOW arrive back in Vacuo, they see May, Ember and Violet are fighting off a horde of Grimm. Those who arrive quickly join in to help defend troops.

Vacuo Theater[]

Mason is seen with Apatite inside Professor Theodore’s office. Theo seems impatient, waiting on Violet, Leia and Ember to arrive. Once inside, the three talk to Mason, Apatite and Theo. Mason instructs Leia and Ember to follow up on a theory Ember has developed of a forward operating base for Onyx. Mason goes to join Ember and Leia. It is also revealed that Mason and Theo are now Generals within the Vacuoan Military.

As Leia, May and Ember work with BIC security teams to coordinate another strike, Mason enters and says the three are wanted by Theo. When inside his office with Violet, Apatite and Amethyst, Theo explains that Team RBIE was able to locate a surge in Grimm activity. The team also reported that the Ombre Army had fallen back and out of the territory completely. When further asked, Theo states that the Vacuo council has prepared an Invasion force and that they are preparing for a full on invasion of Fort Frollo. The mission will include all available huntsmen, huntresses, Vacuo forces, Wolf Tribe members, Bluejay crew and militia forces from Vale as Glynda Goodwitch assumed direct control of Beacon and its assets. Theo simply tells them all to prepare as Violet leaves the room.

As Apatite is overseeing different files, the Plague Doctor enters his office. Without hesitation, the doctor attacks him and tries to kill Apatite. The fight forces them out into the hallway of the capital building where Violet sees them and fights as well.

Amethyst portals in to see Violet and Apatite battling the Plague Doctor. She quickly intervenes and attacks. The Plague Doctor is able to hold off all three and even redirect some attacks, taking down Violet in the process. As Amethyst and Apatite continue to fight, Violet gets to her feet and unleashes her semblance to knock the doctor out of the fight. But, he gets back up and nearly kills Violet, but Amethyst sacrifices herself to save her daughter, dying in the process. The Plague Doctor portals away once reinforcements show up.

Apatite leads the procession of his deceased wife through Vacuo. At the funeral, he gives a small speech and lays Amethyst to rest. Afterward, Leia and the party talk about the invasion. Leia explains that fusion cannons have a 6 minute charge rate but take 6 hours to fully recharge. So, Theo devises a plan that FLME and VILE will infiltrate the fort, take out the guns and leave a window wide enough with SSMR and WIOW to operate as backup. The party finishes their plan and move to prepare. After the meeting, Violet talks with Theo and Apatite about her mother.

Life After the War[]

Following the battle, Sienna, Theo and Apatite Eclairage interrogate the Plague Doctor and deduce his true identity as Adrain Calicfer. However, the assassin refuses to speak to the authorities and the three remain in a stand still to find his motives.
