Blutzahn Sachmis is an assassin of the Vortigern Clan and the sub-leader of their esteemed Remnant 9.

Appearance[]

Inspiration: Erza Knightwalker of Fairy Tail

Blutzahn stands as the tallest member of the Remnant 9 and only loses it to Lupus when he is in his full Faunus form. She possesses the physique of a female mixed martial artists, with muscular arms and skinned in exotic brown. Her figure is much more straight and broad, in comparison to the hourglasses of Yang and her fellow team-mate Vervè. Her face is comparable to the image of a war goddess: stern, yet elegant, seemingly in flames due to her flowing wavy crimson hair tied in a loose knot behind her head.

Her battle uniform is heavily armored. Along with her weapons that encompass her arms, nearly her entire upper body wears a black-red chest piece, that is segmented to allow flexibility, and pauldrons that reach up to her chin. Her lower body is similarly armored, composed of a genuine combat skirt of what some claim to be dragon-scale and greaves that are also extended to her needle-pointed combat platform boots.

Personality[]

Blutzahn can be summarized as a warm motherly figure to the Remnant 9, while a merciless warrior with a code based in honor and mutual respect for those she faces.

To the Remnant 9, as the sub-leader, she takes on a much more caring role in comparison to the more tactical-and-performance-focused Vulturn. While she had done this at his behest and initially found it draining on her patience, over time she has warmed up to the role and found that being concerned for her teammates and helping them sort out their emotional issues was a small way in redeeming herself for the lifestyle of assassination she has to live everyday. As a result, she is one of the "hearts" of the squad. However, given her use of it as redemption, she is insecure about her effectiveness in this role and can be a little over-protective and intrusive, especially to the more loner-type members Hellios and Briar.

To herself, she is strict and always practices meta-cognitive thinking, never allowing her faults to pull her down and forever seeking ways to make up for or eliminate them. Philosophy of self, the goals of fighting and an Aura's reflection of the soul are topics she frequently thinks about. As a result, her word is heavily cherished by her and she can be trusted to have a good reason if she did not uphold a promise. However, due to her constant self-looking, being casual and relaxed can be difficult for Blutzahn and while her consequently strong stature is seen by many as symbol of strength and confidence, it can make her seem unapproachable.

In combat, facing off against strong forces sparks within her a thrill, but she is able to suppress it and maintain a keen awareness of the flow of the fight, making her suitable as a battle leader. Mercy is not something she easily grants, as she is all too aware of how it can bite her back in the future. Despite this, she does seek to give her enemies a proper end and will typically make it as painless as possible, remembering the names of those that leave a strong impression, as compared to her more 'playful' and callous teammates.

Weapons[]

Blutzahn's weapons are her pair of Multi-Form Storm Claws (MFSC), named Slicer & Dicer. The base form is a pair of large black-red gauntlets that has 50-cm long sabre-claws that mimic the movements of her actual hands encased under the bulk, which is easily twice the width of her arms and covers her entire forearm. The claws are extremely tough and while they may not have as much cutting power as some of her squad-mate's weapons, application of Dust channeled within the claws and then ignited can empower her attacks greatly with both elemental effects and increased strength.

These claws can retract back from her hands onto her forearms to combine and form into reverse-pointed arm-blades, each one as long as her upper body. While range of motion is more limited, this form is more defensive and suited for extremely close quarters fight, especially since her own gauntlets, stripped of their claws, are still suitable for her hard punches.

Finally when in claw form, the claws themselves can straighten and split down the middle to reveal gun-barrels inside each one. The fist part of the gauntlet will reform itself to take on the frame of a mini-gun with the claws as the barrels, with Blutzahn's hands within it pulling an inner trigger. Its fire-rate and destructive power is great, but as there is little room on the gauntlets for ammunition, the mini-gun can only fire in short bursts before reloading via slapping special Dust vials into a compartment in the back of the hand is necessary.

Blutzahn's role in the Remnant 9 is that of a front-line fighter and backup leader whenever the squad has to split up or Vulturn is needed elsewhere. Compared to fellow frontliner Lupus, most of her physical attributes are just below his full power, but she has greater stamina and sustainability, along with being much more technically skilled. Even then, to compare her to a Beacon student is equivalent to comparing a T-rex to a dog, while the average professional Hunters are merely lions to her, dangerous in packs, but hopeless one on one.

Fighting Style[]

As a fighter, she is highly technical and tactical in her strikes, focusing on compact attacks and carefully executed combos focused on disrupting her opponents' ability to fight back. Her dodging is kept to the bare minimum necessary and she focuses on parrying instead, so that she can counterattack in an instant, while her mind is always aiming at the bigger picture. Whereas her teammates tend to focus down on a single opponent, she is the main one besides Vulturn that always keeps the big picture in mind, making her suited for a battlefield commander.

Aura[]

Blutzahn's Aura comes forth in a red-black mist, very much like a volcano in the middle of an eruption. Its enhancement specialties are in strength, speed and defense, suiting her close-quarter focus. Among the Remnant 9, it has the greatest replenishment capabilities, meaning it can refill itself relatively quickly, such that a fully exhausted Blutzahn can get back in on the offensive within fifteen minutes.

Her Semblance is called Full Name: Energy Control - Effect Rescheduling. It manifests as a multi-staged ability that can be used on anything within 15 meters of her. When used, any energy of her choice, be it kinetic, electrical, heat or even Aura, is first reduced by a degree based on Blutzahn's will, up to roughly 75%. It allows her to diminish the power of almost any attack and even the movements of her opponents. By reducing gravity's pull, she can leap great heights, while punching her opponents sends them flying far further than they would otherwise.

Her ability hasn't ended yet, though. As implied by its name, her Semblance does not reduce energy, but instead 'reschedules' them such that they will only take effect in a different time, mostly a few seconds later. This means that her opponent's punches get stronger, sure, but when the delayed energy is laid on top of the opponent's attack, a few problems arise. First of all, it is exceeding what her opponent can withstand and numerous times, they will find their arms suddenly dislocated and their muscles ripped. Secondly, it is completely disorientating to suddenly have more power in your attacks than you intended; caught off guard, you will find yourself pulled forward by your own attack. Thirdly, Blutzahn knows the exact timing of when the delayed energy will return and hence is completely aware of the attack that is incoming.

It is even more brutal when she delays the energy from multiple occasions into a single moment in the future. In this case, the opponent's body is likely to break from the excessive motion from the stacked energy or melt from the accumulated heat that they had thought had been lost to sudden chills. Removing the gravitational energy from someone allows her to punch them high into the air, before the returned energy pulls them back down in a meteor-like crash. Using the ability on herself may seem counter-intuitive, but with Lupus, who grants invulnerability to those he touches, she can afford it by warning him ahead of time.
