Weapon Specifications[]
Name: Boomstick
Classification: Complex Multi-Round Derringer(CMRD)
Weight: 2 kilograms
Length: 20 centimeters
Derivative Design: Derringer
Details: The Boomstick is a six barrel derringer, with a removable clip resembling a revolver's drum, designed for multiple situations. Capable of firing six rounds in rapid succession, before requiring the lengthy process of switching the now empty clip for a new one, via break-action reloading. Most clips comes stamped with bullet designations.
Clips labelled as 'FMJ' are traditional, average rounds, designed to be moderately in almost all situations.
Clips labelled as 'AP' are modified for heavily armored targets, such as Deathstalkers. However, due to being thinner, and capable of penetrating armor, it is ill-advised to fire at softer targets, as the bullet will pass straight through, making a tiny hole as the wound. Over penetration is a common annoyance. Be careful when used near innocents.
Clips labelled 'HE' are loaded with rounds designed for close quarter combat with lightly armed targets. The round, when impacting the target, affects the target by cause a small explosion/shockwave, basically acting as a blunt force strike instead of a piercing strike compared to normal rounds.
Clips labelled with an 'I' are loaded with intriguing rounds. These rounds fire out a stream of fire via Dust, up to twenty meters away. Although having the shortest range of all the available rounds, and having the second lowest lethality rate compared to the rest, it provides an entertaining and distracting fire in the air. Not recommended to drop the clip, as it sprays between 2-5 seconds. Don't want to eject a still flaming round!
Clips labelled 'HP' are loaded with a very dangerous type of round. These rounds have the highest fatality rate amongst all other rounds. Designed for softer targets, when the bullet strikes and starts entering the target, the bullet deforms itself, and has an unpredictable pattern trough is path of carnage within the target.
Clips labelled 'HV' have the second highest lethality rate, designed to strike targets at ranges between 50-100 meters. Any closer, and it acts akin to an AP clip. Can be compared as a higher quality version of the AP clips, but is also more expensive, at least double the predecessor's price.
Any clips not labelled, are generally loaded with varying bullets, of various combinations.
Or, basically put, 'AP' for armored targets, 'HE' for lowest lethality rate, 'I' for pyromaniacs, and second lowest lethality rate, 'HP' for the highest lethality rate, and for softer targets, and finally the 'HV', which is for longer ranges, and second highest lethality rate.
Trivia[]
-Most likely the most unnecessarily complex weapon on the RWBY Fanon.
-Comes with a 'Bullet Type Definition' manuscript.
-Design of the gun is somewhat a mix of a harmonica loaded gun, and a derringer.
-Is not a shotgun. Even though it's nicknamed a Boomstick.
-Bullet designations are based on their real life counterparts, except for 'I', which is based off the Dragon's Breath shell, not Incendiary rounds.
-Base design was 'A clip for every scenario'.
-I was planning to include at least 20 more types of rounds, but I'm certain that many off you never heard of 'lead semi-wadcutter hollow point', 'frangible, 'target-master wadcutter', or 'boat tail hollow point'. So, I just left the easier, more common rounds. Well...not including Dragon's Breath shells. But that is a more exotic round.
-Weapon was made because I had the sudden urge to go gun savvy.
