Cedar is an original character created by WeissSchnee. She is a robotic unofficial Huntress and alludes to Quorra from Tron.

Appearance[]

Cedar was designed to look like a teenage girl. She has short, slightly curled dark brown hair that comes down to her chin. She has the left side of her hair tucked behind her ear and keeps it in place with a white hair clip. She also has vibrant blue eyes and a flesh colored head and upper torso. Her arms have white and black shells, as do her legs, though a person not looking too close would simply mistake them for elbow length gloves and leggings. Cedar has light brown knee panels and the lower half of her leg shells are light brown and give the appearance of futuristic boots.

Cedar wears a light brown jumpsuit with short style legs. She wears the jumpsuit unzipped to halfway down her torso and with the sleeves pushed up to just below her elbows. The jumpsuit has four zippered pockets, two on the front and one of each arm. The jumpsuit has white trim along the color and sides of the main zipper.

Biography/ History[]

Cedar was created as part of Project C.E.D.A.R (Combat Exoskeleton Data Analysis Robot), a classified and experimental project being carried out by the Atlas scientists. The scientists believed that the ban imposed on sentient robotic and artificial intelligence research by the government and military was counter productive, and that they could produce something groundbreaking, thus the aim of C.E.D.A.R became to create robotic Huntsmen and Huntresses that could quickly and efficiently deal with Grimm. The first prototype, a female model, was created and uploaded with a program that would gather data on Grimm when the robot encountered them and send it back live to the lab.

All of the first copies of the robot were destroyed during their first field test, but even this destruction provided useful data. Eventually, a combination of extensive data and improvements to the robot itself led to the team creating a very effective robotic Huntress.  The team programmed the robot and the program running it to act and look as human as possible, believing that would make their product more palatable to any potential buyers.

The team was nearly ready to produce a fully functional and programmed prototype when the scientists learned that the military had caught wind of what they were doing and an inspection of their lab was imminent. The group knew they would all be jailed if the military discovered what they were doing, so all of the scientists decided to stage an explosion in the lab to erase any trace of what they'd been doing and any chance that they could be convicted of anything.

However, one of the scientists that had worked on the project; more specifically the creation of the program that operated the robotic shells, had become quite protective of her. He caused the explosion in the lab as he and his colleagues had decided and then faked his death, leading everyone to conclude that he had been killed in it. The lab and all it's contents were destroyed, or so it appeared. In actuality, the scientist had made a copy of the operating program and of the plans of the robotic shell. He paid a worker who was loading an ship headed for Vale a substantial sum of money and in exchange, the worker allowed him to stow away in the cargo hold with his possessions.

Once in Vale, the scientist drastically had his appearance changed and worked for two years to build the robotic body itself, and it took him a further six months; after paying some less than honest people to steal the tech he needed, to upload the copy of the C.E.D.A.R program he'd made into the robot. Once the robot came back online, the scientist explained to the robot what had happened and how he had saved her. She was as thankful as she was capable of being, and then she asked the man what they should do next.

He laughed before telling her that everyone had the right to choose their own path in life, even her, and that her future was now hers to decide. The robot smiled back at him before replying that what she was originally programmed for; fighting and killing Grimm, was a worthy things to dedicate one's self to, so that was what she was going to continue to do.

From that day on, the robot; now known as Cedar, would head out to villages outside the kingdom and help to defend them. She never charged for her services, and only ever accepted payment; either in the form of money or whatever else the villages could spare, if they insisted she take it.  She would give some of what she earned to the scientist that created her and the rest to the poor and downtrodden in Vale.

After the Fall of Beacon, Cedar stayed in Vale, secretly assisting in clearing out Grimm and rescuing any trapped and injured civillians.

Personality[]

Cedar is very altruistic. She meets kindness with kindness and approaches the people and work she believes in with generosity and enthusiasm.

She has excellent, highly developed analytical skills and whilst being introverted, Cedar has developed good social skills. Due to her history, she is also open to new ideas and ways of thinking.

Cedar is meticulous and hard working, and can always be relied on to achieve her goals and complete whatever task she is set. She takes her responsibilities very seriously, and consistently goes above and beyond to produce better than expected results for others. Despite this, Cedar has a tendency to underplay her accomplishments and does not feel comfortable being in the spotlight or being the center of attention, and while her kindness and hard work are usually appreciated, some people have a tendency to take advantage of her good nature.

She is learning, however, to stand up for herself and take pride in what she does. Due to the reasons why she was created and what she was created for, Cedar has a strong drive to protect others in is usually unable to sit by while there is an opportunity to help them.

In Combat[]

Being a robot, Cedar has high levels of strength, speed and agility. This combined with the extensive and thorough database she has on many species of Grimm and their combat styles makes her very effective at fighting them. She has also stored and analyzed data on Human combat styles and uses them on the rare occasion she enters into combat with people.

Seeing as how Cedar is without Aura and therefore has no Semblance, she had a personal energy field module built in that produces a force field naked to the human eyes that envelopes her body when in combat. While not as effective at reducing and preventing damage as Aura, it makes Cedar more resistant to damage and weapon fire. The shield is only a prototype that the scientist developed to make Cedar more durable, and it has a low battery life. On occasions when the shield fails or Cedar takes a hit too strong for the shield to stop, she must return to her creator for repairs.

Even with this personal shield, Cedar still does her best to avoid being hit in combat. In combat, Cedar uses a Dual Bladed Combat Lance (DBCL) called Rustfall. In it's default form, Rustfall is a lance with a blade on each end. The lance can be split in half and changed into two hand held blades, and these two blades can then be changed into a pair of machine pistols.
