Appearance[]
Pale skin, black hair. Light brown eyes. Can often be seen with either a blank face, or a smirk. Has long, messy black hair, down to her waist. She has scars on her mouth, under her right eye, and on her throat. Has faint scars on her hands, and right arm. Thin, almost unhealthily so.
Two pairs of handcuffs are usually cuffed to her wrists; Due to the size of them, and the size of her wrists, both cuffs sit just below her hands. There are catches on each of them that release them; They then turn into her weapons of choice.
Ebony wears an old, slightly tatty black leather jacket, that was once owned by her mother, given to her by her father. Underneath is a white shirt and light grey vest, the first clothes she ever bought herself; She's rarely seen without any of it.
For pants, she wears simple, dark grey jeans, with white straps on them, mainly because she likes how they look. She wears a simple pair of black boots.
Personality[]
Ebony is outgoing, and can be considered very forthright. Not afraid to speak her mind; Sometimes her friends tend to apologise for how she acts. Not prejudiced or cruel to humans, or faunus, but if someone acts in a way she sees as unfair, or not right, she's not afraid to pull them up on it and tell them what she thinks. Doesn't talk about her past much. She seems to have a rather severe hatred of Grimm, to the point where she will break cover, or run from a hiding place to attack one if she sees a smaller one; She at least has a small amount of rationality when it comes to a Deathstalker, or other large Grimm. Ursa and Beowolves are what she tends to target, showing a ferocity in battle that is unmatched by her teammates.
Despite this, in battle with humans or faunus, she takes on a more defensive stance; Her attacks are fierce, but she doesn't fight to kill as she does with Grimm. She's more likely to hang back and tease her enemy, and wait for them to attack her.
Her goals are to become a huntress, kill as many Grimm as possible, and find her sister.
Weapons and Abilities[]
Ebony has a pair of chain-knives, which change into handcuffs for portability. There is a small catch on each left cuff, which, when pushed, will release the cuffs and change them to their weapon form.
The knives are separated into two parts. What would be the catch-side of each cuff turns into the handle, the other cuff changing into a knife, which she keeps meticulously maintained. Tends to be more 'showy' when fighting, using the environment to her advantage whenever possible. As a result, she suffers from fighting in flat, empty arenas. The weapons were made by her father, when she told him that she desired to be a huntress. They are the reason for most of the scars on her hands.
Ebony isn't a good talker, as she doesn't have much of a filter; She doesn't use excessive profanity or insults, but she's more likely to tell you what she thinks of you than others. She is a skilled baker, and tends to make more horror-themed things, such as shortbread spiders. Wants to learn to be a seamstress, but fails miserably whenever she tries.
Skilled fighter, she has trained for a year with her chain-knives, and can use them to kill any minor Grimm in her way, and incapacitate most humans or faunus she fights; Provided their skill doesn't outmatch hers, that is.
Backstory[]
Sidenote: This probably needs some revisions, and cutting, but I'm not sure where. If anyone could assist, I'd be grateful.
Ebony Belle was born into a family of six children, three girls and three boys. She had one parent, a father, who looked after all six of them. Her mother died in childbirth with Ebony's youngest sister. She grew up a privileged life in Vale, with a rich family.
One day when Ebony was sixteen, she was exploring with her brother and oldest sister in a forest near their home. The three were attacked by a pack of Beowolves while in a part they had never explored. Her brother and sister, already trained Hunters were quick to act, but they couldn't stop Ebony being mauled, most of her right side damaged, and scarred. Her brother, killing what had mauled Ebony, was taken by surprise as an Ursa showed up, and killed him right in front of her.
Ebony and her sister escaped, and never found their brother's body. The event traumatised Ebony, and she didn't speak for a year and a half, despite therapy, and pleading from her father. She spent most of her time inside, giving her skin a pale tint.
On her seventeenth birthday, Ebony's father gave her her mother's jacket; He'd been looking in the attic of their house for something, and had across the jacket she wore in her Huntress-ing days. With it were a collection of journals her mother kept. Over a week, Ebony read each and every one. The tales of her mother's adventures inspired her, and Ebony went to her father, speaking for the first time since the incident that took her brother and damaged her right side.
"I want to be a huntress."
Her father, a mechanic, immediately set out making her weapons like the one's his wife, and Ebony's mother had once used, and presented them to her right away. He trained her himself, and she excelled in the year they trained together.
However, a few weeks before her eighteenth birthday, tragedy struck, and while Ebony was out with her older sister in the forest, training, tragedy struck. They were interrupted by smoke coming from the direction of her house, and when they found it, all they found was a pile of rubble and smoke. In it, Ebony and her older sister found the bodies of their father, and second-oldest brother. Their oldest brother, and youngest sister were nowhere to be seen.
Ebony, determined to believe that Grimm had done it, immediately left her sister, and applied to Beacon, whereupon she made it through, and ended up in a team with Hazel Capulus, Cinnabar Rhine, and Sky Blue.
Trivia[]
- Ebony's original name was Canna Belle, in a different universe; A joke about her dark past, and other people's headcanons about her family; If said fast enough, it sounds similar to 'Cannibal'.
- In another universe, Canna is an undead, through technology; Her inner organs are replaced by artificial, mechanical ones, meaning she has no pulse, and doesn't breathe.
