Elanor Zburator is a 16 year old huntress in training at Beacon academy and is one of two heirs to a prestigious and well known airship company known as Zburator Airships, the other being her older brother who is also her greatest partner in combat.

Appearance[]
Elanor a is rather short girl, being about 5ft 2in in height. Her height is nothing to judge though, she is rather strong despite her girlish figure. She’s not entirely gifted, being only a B cup, but she is very cute with her darker tone skin and blonde hair which she keeps in a braid. Her bright red eyes stand out against her hair and skin, but match well with her outfit and even more so the necklace she wears.
Typically Elanor can be seen in her standard attire, which is dressy and formal. She wears a black, almost future style female military uniform. The sleeves are long and the skirt is mid thigh, with yellow designs that could be futuristic but are actually a woven incan style. On the uniform she wears a red tie as well. For the rest of her outfit she wears dark gray leggings and knee high boots with similar yellow and red designs.
Personality[]
Elanor is like most children from a rich family: Stuck up and snobbish. When she was young and growing up, she and her brother were given everything they wanted and were taught how to live in the rich livestyle. Although at her age now she is less snobbish, she still can be from time to time. Elanor can also be humble, her time at working in her father's company making her so at times. Elanor can also be a bit of a hypocrite, especially when dealing with bragging and being right.
There are times when she acts different, and it's whenever her brother is around. Whenever Ilkay is around, Elanor is a bit more carefree. This has been the case back when they grew up together, being able to break the normal routines of dinners, business guest, and staying with their father while meeting clients. Sometimes they'd cut loose, acting a little crazy during a dinner or something of the sort. Even now, Elanor is more comfortable with Ilkay, being more open and not so stuck up, though it's good point to say she does get a bit more snobbish.
In battle, Elanor is ruthless, cunning, and deadly. She wields her weapon proudly, and does so because of the numerous times she's proven her skill in her father's business. She's not the leader type, and isn't very strategic but is very flexible when it comes to following plans. Elanor works best with a partner but is always willing to solo if need be.
Weapons and Abilities[]
Elanor's battle style is a mix of close quarters and mid to long range. She is skilled in whip combat and in using a sling, which is how her weapon Devil's Wifebeater works with distance. When defending, she'll tend to dodge or use her umbrella in normal mode as a shield. When attacking, she's fond of switching between close and distance, as well as relying on her semblance several times during battle.
Devil’s Wifebeater- Elanor's weapon, which is an umbrella that can transform into a Cat of Nine Tails. When In the whip form, fire dust can be used to create a fireball between the whips and sling it towards an enemy. While the umbrella is open, it can be used as a shield. The umbrella is yellow in color, with red dust accents and black details and the handle being curved.
Remembreance- Elanor's semblance; When she activates it, she will create two after images that will execute an attack after she does then disappear. For Example, if Elanor activates Remembreance then attacks with an uppercut, then the first afterimage can follow the same movement or use a different attack such as a downward whiplash; the second afterimage would then execute an attack after the first, such as a powerful kick.
Elanor can control what the afterimages do for their attacks, but can't change it afterwards. The afterimages can time out and disappear before an attack makes contact, and she can only summon them within a range of 7 feet of her. She can use this intandum with dust to give the afterimage's properties like being on fire or circulating like wind, which is based on the dust she uses. Her semblance take a good bit out of her aura, but she can use it a few times before she gets weak.
Elanor's Aura is bright reddish orange in color and when active looks more like solar flares on her body.
As a side note, Elanor is very capable in team combat, and has countless experience fight along side her brother Ilkay Zburator. They have even practiced using each others weapons and have done business for their father's company since they were young.
Backstory[]
Elanor Zburator was born in the middle of a hot summer day to Saol and Bima Sakti Zburator. She was the second of two children, the first being a brother a little over a year earlier. Elanor was quite a cute girl, and from the time she was born was always looked after by her older brother. It was also important to say that both Elanor and Ilkay, her older brother, were to be the heirs to the Zburator Airship Company.
The Zburator Airship Company was a well known name all across Remnant, being one of the few companies that largely outputs airships for the four kingdoms. The company has been around ever since the start, when flight was becoming monopolized and aircraft were being manufactured. The company became under the leadership of Saol Zburator when the latest owner passed, giving it over to him just as countless others have ever since the company was founded. This same fate was to pass on to the two newest Heirs.
As what would come with a company owner for a father, Elanor and Ilkay grew up in the lavish and proper life: taught proper manners, dressed formally, and taught from a young age. Most of the time Elanor and her older brother were watched by their mother at home while Saol was out on business but eventually the two of them began accompanying their father when they became older enough on such things like dinners and meeting clients. Sometimes they would laugh at the dinner table, or play hide and seek with other kids while their parents talked business and attended galas. Even with this, Elanor was more rambunctious than her brother, who seemed to retain some of his manners even when having fun.
It is good to note that even with friends from other families, Ilkay and Elanor were close: Always playing together, enjoying each other's company, and being there when something was wrong. Whenever Elanor would get in trouble, Ilkay would always comfort her out of sight of Saol. Whenever his father would stress him out over new lessons, Elanor always knew how to cheer him up. The two of them even switched part of their wardrobe one night at a ball: Ilkay wearing his sister bow where his tie would be and Elanor wearing her brother's tie. Everyone found it a little strange but funny, their mother having a good laugh and their father sternly holding in a chuckle. Needless to say, the switch stuck and it became common place for them to do so.
It was a few years later that Ilkay and his sister became closer and with good reason. Eventually business began to ramp up more, which meant more conferences, meetings, dinners, the works; this lead to Ilkay and Elanor going with their father more often, and as they had to be more proper at a older age of 7 (Elanor) and 8(Ilkay). Elanor would help him with work Saol trusted the young boy with and her brother would be her pillow whenever long rides or meetings drug on.
When Elanor was 9 years she stumbled apon her brother studying a few things, and as she always did went to check on him. With curious ambition, she took note of what her brother was studying over: jobs. She hated the idea of doing something along the lines of boring meetings and paper work. Curious, she asked her brother find any exciting jobs, and he did so. The two of them had totally different ideas of what "exciting" meant, but eventually she had a list of jobs: Entrepreneur, Speaker, etc. None of them caught her attention till a lower one on the list read "hunter". She asked about it from her brother, but he seemed to entranced in his studying so she went and read for herself.
Needless to say, breakfast the next morning was a bit of shock to her parents and brother, when she announced she was gonna be a huntress. Saol and Bimi didn't know what to think, and when they asked her, she replied "I don't want to be stuck behind a desk, I want to fight monsters and help people like the heroes I read about it." After Breakfast, she played outside, pretending to be one of the famous huntsman she read about.
There years passed, and Elanor was attending Signal academy with her brother by her side. She never understood why he came with her, since he seemed more interested in the office life but she was happy to have him there. As the school year began, she began to see more of the job she most dreamed off with the training and classes, talk of grimm and older huntsman. Although, it bothered her that as they wet further on into the year Ilkay seemed less than thrilled and one night she questioned him about it. His answer spoke volumes:
"I feel like my stationary life seems to stiff for what you want to do, yet I want to be there to support you through it all. I just feel like my walking pace isn't suitable for this run and go travel."
it wasn't more than two seconds that the two of them were holding back tears, Elanor being the one to comfort Ilkay this time in his time of need. It was then on that both of them seemed a bit more down than usual and it kept up till a faithful encounter a few months later.
Elanor and Ilkay were with their mom and dad for a get together at the nearby facility in Vale, a celebration being held for a new model of personal airship being released. About a fourth of the way into the party, word came up to them that some workers had spotted some grimm who had made their way into outer Vale and were attacking some of the display airships. Saol was puzzled on what to do, when Elanor made a bold declaration, "Let me deal with it. I've had enough training I should be fine." Ilkay held his tongue, knowing damn well she wasn't ready. Before her father could say anything she ran off, heading out of the party.
As she made her way out of the building and over to the airship field, she spotted the grimm, a small group of Ursa. Before she could go any further, a hand reached out and grabbed her, pulling her beside him. It was Ilkay, who she had hoped would have stayed behind. She questioned why, he wanted the life like dad's so why not live it. He responded by saying I promised to stay by you through this, and there's no way I'm letting you fight those Ursa by yourself. She nodded, smiling a little as the two of them drew their weapons and went out against the ursa.
Saol was worried now, it had been a half hour and they hadn't returned. Bimi insisted that he send someone to find, but as they were about to do so the two returned. They were a little beat up, clothes dirtied up and a little torn. Ilkay and Elanor were embraced by their parents, worried sick about them. Saol asked what happened and Ilkay spoke up with a smile saying they took care of it together. His sister began to cry a little as Elanor hugged him, him hugging her back. While their parents didn't quite understand, the siblings knew what had happened: they had found a happy medium to the issue which were causing so much grief to them both.
As expected, Ilkay and Elanor became closer after the celebration and when they returned to school. They began to work together more, being partners in combat alongside siblings. After their second year of school, Ilkay went with his father with a request, that they could work for the company as huntsman and huntress for jobs might require it. Saol was curious and asked how, with Elanor responding It'll be like that one night two years ago, except we do it for the company as a whole for whatever reasons you may need. Enticed by the idea of his kids helping the company and doing what they like, he agree but with one closing remark: "Just so you know, you both still are eligible to be heir, so work as if I was watching" The two sibling knew it was competition, and Ilkay was fixed on getting that title as long as his sister could be their along the way.
After her third year at Signal, Elanor was sad to see her brother graduate with her having a year left even with all the experience she had. The two of them had down well so far, and even had more experience under the belt with the work done for their company than most at their age. Oddly enough, Elanor was actually offered a chance to attend Beacon a year early on the account of her grades and status at Signal: Number Three Duo in the whole academy with Ilkay being her partner for two years in succession (three for Ilkay). When the teachers at Beacon saw this, they coincided with Ozpin about bringing her up with her brother who was old enough to enroll at Beacon. It was somewhat debated, but they came to a consensus of approved and Elanor was offered the chance. She accepted it, and now is attending Beacon alongside her brother. Now the Zburator Siblings approach the next step: Life at Beacon and the goal of becoming fledged hunters and the heir to the Zburator Airship company.
Trivia[]
- Elanor's first name (Elanor) is Sindarin for "Sun Star". Both star and sun convey the color yellow, with accordance to how the sun appears yellow.
- Zburator, Elanor's last name, is romanian for "Flyer" or "Flying"
- Elanor is actually alluded to a genderbend of Inti, the Incan Sun god. Inti is also known for having a sister (who also later becomes his wife) named Mama Killa, who is a goddess of the moon. This also makes reference to how Elanor has a brother who is actually based on a genderbent version of Mama Killa.
- Elanor's weapon, Devil's Wifebeater, is homage to a saying used in the sourthen united states, which describes what happens when it rains but the sky is clear with the saying being "The Devil is beating his wife".
- The Zburator family has a tradition of being named after some large body or something in space. This is apparent in Ilkay's and his sister's case, along with their parents as well. Saol is Irish for "universe" while Bimi Sakti is "milky way" in Sundanese.
