Appearance[]
Eli is an unusually tall, buff blonde with large pieces of armor covering most parts of his body except for his head and joints. His usual complexion has a sneering look to it, as if he looks down on everybody he sees. Below his armor, he wears a silky golden tunic embroidered with designs and quality jeans. On his chestplate lies his symbol, a single golden sword pointing downwards.
History[]
Eli actually comes down from a proud family of highly-skilled Hunters and Huntresses that date all the way back to the Great War. Ever since his great-grandfather and great-grandmother participated in the skirmish, his predecessors have all attended combat schools and have had successful careers.
As a result, his family was more or less well-known around Vale. They were also very well off, rich from their missions. Eli was born an only child, with no siblings to guide him. His parents would often be on their missions, gaining more wealth and fame as they went. Thus, Eli had nothing but servants and nannys to keep him company. He was incredibly estranged from his parents by their trips.
Eli had no real guidance when it came to social situations, never really interacting with anybody in his huge mansion. However, he understood the servants were below him in status, and ordered them around for the most lenient of tasks. Eli was also often quite bored in his childhood. He had really no friends to play with, and no social experience to make some.
Thus, when he entered Signal, he made no friends easily the first day. He also developed his horrible attitude during his time at Signal. Developing quite an infamous reputation, he was ostracized by the fellow students. His natural inherited talent for combat only contributed to his infamy. He also encountered Hans Raum during his education at Signal and developed a rivalry with the drill user, competing for the top spot.
What Eli couldn't understand, though, was Hans' popularity. While he was popular with the crowd and had a good time, Eli was treated like trash, even though they were equal in skill. When Eli couldn't make sense of this, he began to form a hatred towards Hans.
As expected, Eli was accepted at the prestigious Beacon Academy. He will find, however, that he needs to learn how to care for others...
Combat[]
Eli's weapon of choice, Castillo Acero, is a Heavy Projectile Railgun Halberd (HPRH). The weapon can take two forms: a halberd with a railgun cannon integrated into the pole weapon, or a railgun sniper. The blade of the halberd itself takes the form of one a bearded axe might take. The tip of the weapon while in halberd form is a tapered spear point, which can also contract back to reveal the barrel of the firearm. On the back of the weapon is a sharpened hook, which Eli utilizes to disarm his enemies easily. In the sniper form, Eli can take more accurate shots with the railgun to far-away targets with incredible destruction, up to about 1.3 miles.
The cartridges of Castillo Acero contain 8 shells that each contain a high-capacity powdered Dust payload. This results in massive explosions and shrapnel flying everywhere in a 3 meter blast radius. The fire rate of the weapon, however, is quite slow, requiring 5 seconds between each round to charge up and pull off the massive distance.
In combat, Eli is extremely quick with his halberd strikes and can react quickly to threats, to the point in which he can deflect bullets. He also uses the propulsion of the railgun to speed himself up in battle. In addition, his halberd provides a number of offensive options, from disarming to whirling to slicing and finally stabbing. Eli has an amazing amount of endurance when it comes to attacks, able to take a surprising amount of hits before his Aura wanes.
Eli mostly uses Gravity Dust to propel himself and his shells to even faster velocities.
Eli's main role in his team is long-range support, but that's the only role he ever plays, as he reacts positively when he gets kills with his railgun. He is able to play close-combat roles, but only if the situation seems incredibly dire.
Eli's semblance, named Bastion, allows Eli to put up a one-way barrier. The barrier is personal in its range of defense and extend to about 2.5 meters in width, covering only Eli. The strength of the one-way barrier is that Eli can shoot through his own barrier while enemies can't shoot or strike through his. Eli can put one up every 5 minutes, and if left undamaged, the barriers themselves can last for 60 seconds. However, with each hit dealt on it, the barrier's lasting time is lessened, with proportion to the strength of the attack.
Personality[]
Eli's personality, due to his proud history, has a vain and insensitive attitude. He doesn't take real notice of what's supposed to be taken seriously, treating almost everything as a joke, except for his own matters, which he thinks highly of.
To be blunt, he's a bit of a jackass.
He also takes a proud attitude when taking on human targets and Grimm. Despite his character, he fights brilliantly in the battlefield, expertly handling his halberd. However, he can be too overconfident of his abilities. As a result of his horrible attitude towards most living things, he tends to underestimate them most of the time. In addition, he doesn't think about his other teammates at all in battle.
