The G-Engine is a dust powered propulsion system designed and manufactured by the Flagg Institute.
Appearance[]
G-Engines come in many sizes, but they will always be disks with glowing purple lines due to their dust usage. The top (or lower) portions can be opened for maintenance. Otherwise, they lack orifices where Foreign Object could be allowed to enter.
Function[]
By using gravity dust (hence the name), the G-Engine is able to provide an aircraft with effectively silent propulsion in a smaller and lighter package. The device works by generating an artificial gravity or anti-gravity many times stronger than Remnant's own Gravitational pull. there is a notable "hum" that the engine emits, but nowhere near as loud as a conventional engine.
G-Engines also allow any aircraft to function as a VTOL without the need for pivot mechanisms or the (by comparison) abysmally low speed. The overall lack of moving parts makes these extremely reliable and safe alternatives to conventional engines. Although expensive to build, the G-Engine pays off in the long run thanks to its ease of maintenance and efficiency. For best results, Flagg recommends using high-grade Gravity dust crystals to provide maximum efficiency.
G-Engins are seen on aircraft from the speediest of fighter jets to the largest of airships as well as a few hovercraft. Currently, the Institute is testing prototypes for man-wearable versions.
