Eminence Redmoon - Changes

Leila Souris is a member of team DGTL. She moves with stealth and is an expert at hand to hand combat. She is the only one on the team that fights with dust-infused clothing.

Appearance[]

Leila wears a black attire and red underclothings. She has black and red gloves on both hands, and an elbow pads to both. She is also strapped herself with black straps all over her body, similar to rock climbers. On her left thigh, there is a thigh pack. She has short hair, but along the back, her hair is in a form of two long lashes that almost looks like a tail.

Leila

Personality[]

A little bit paranoid when it comes to people. Leila doesn't interact much with people around her, if someone were to greet her she would just nod her head in greeting and say no more. She is a bit difficult to talk to if she's talking to acquaintances, as she would just give simple and direct answers.

She is fascinated by anything that would pique her curiosity. Which would make her secretively nosy at anything interesting or suspicious.

If she were to speak, she would address a person in paranoia like "what's your angle?" or "why would you say that?". As she does this, she is judging the person she speaks to, seeing if they are trustworthy or not.

Backstory[]

Leila was born human, a beautiful human baby born from a human mother and a mouse Faunus father. The marriage as human and Faunus has been both praised and widely frowned upon, and they have to endure the scorn and jeering of others every day. Of course there some people that defended Leila's family, but unfortunately it was never enough to cease the torment.

Leila's childhood was full of bullying, the children around her knowing her heritage and the fact that her father was a Faunus. And yet Leila did nothing to stop the bullying, simply taking it and never telling anyone, or going to any for help. This bullying just continued, with a threat that if Leila should cry to anyone about it, she should be punished.

This bullying would come to be the incentive Leila needed to become a Huntress, the Hunters and Huntresses of Remnant being some of the most respected and renowned or mankind. Thus, Leila decided to enroll to Signal Academy.

Leila turns out to be one of the top achievers in her year, but this only gives way to more bullying, not only for her heritage, but out of jealousy. Though Leila still does nothing to defend herself, as she attempts to ignore the bullies, despite her wanting to stop it.

At one point, when it was a holiday and she went home, Leila met a girl who had moved into town recently and who had joined her class. Leila had seen her in the halls of Signal, but had never spoken to her. Flavia was the girl's name. Flavia appeared to be the same age as Leila, and they almost instantly became friends, as Flavia's cheery demeanor seemed to overflow onto Leila and lighten her mood considerably. Talking to her made her forget about the bullying she had on a regular basis. Thought, Flavia always makes a point of inquiring Leila's constant air of sadness and negativity, but Leila simply shrugs the questions off, not wanting to catch Flavia in the problem of bullying Leila had, as it would probably entice the bullies to target Flavia as well.

Though, Leila knows there are more than just her who are teased and tormented. Quite a few of the students at Signal even drop out or move away because of the bullying. Though, she had noticed one student being bullied, despite his golden armour and regal appearance. Terrel was his name. While Leila was bullied for her heritage of human and Faunus, Terrel's situation was almost opposite, as he was constantly bullied out of jealousy due to his high status, his parents wealthy and prestigious. The one similarity between Terrel and Leila? They were mostly bullied rather than praised.

Every time Leila saw Terrel, it would be when he was being picked on by the older students, but all she could do was walk on, acting like she saw nothing.. Until one day, she took the time to notice the bullies, they were the same bullies that bullied her as well. This was the last straw. These boys were the scourge of the school, finding pleasure in picking on younger students, and Leila finally decided to walk over to assist her golden armored classmate. The group of bullies before Leila and Terrel assumed that this meant the younger students were teaming up, and made a move to try and attack them.

This worried Leila. She only aimed to assist Terrel, not fight along side him. So with no other choice she decided to fight and yet, to Leila's great surprise, she was much more skilled in combat than she had recently anticipated. She even took on the bullies by herself, while Terrel just cowered in fear. Seeing as Leila could hold her own in a fight, she had decided to help Terrel, day after day, defending him from any bullies.

As the days went by, Leila and Terrel's friendship grew. And so did Leila's affection toward Terrel. It wasn't too long before Leila found she had genuine feelings for Terrel, and sought moral guidance from Flavia, her best friend. To Leila's great surprise, Flavia confessed that she, too, had grown to have feelings for their golden armored classmate. Despite this, Flavia hoped that whoever Terrel fell in love with back, that the two of them could remain friends. But in Leila's mind, she had decided that Flavia had already won, and that the blonde girl was pitying Leila. In a rage, she stormed off.

Flavia soon disappeared from the halls of Signal, and Leila noticed Flavia's absence, and grew concerned. Until she heard the news of Flavia's suicide. Leila was in shock. What made it even worse was that, in Flavia's letter, she regarded Leila with hate and malice, convincing Leila that she had been part of the reason that Flavia did it. At Flavia's funeral, Leila was in tears, crying over her dear departed friend. Thought, what was strange was that she saw Terrel there as well, crying over Flavia's grave too. Leila thought of talking to Terrel, but could find neither the courage nor the strength to do so. And thus, she avoided him.

A week or so after the incident, Leila found herself ambushed by the bullies. Leila was exasperated, but knew she could take them on. Yet, before anything happened or Leila could do anything, the bullies instantly threatened her and her parents, saying they would find a way to move Leila's parents out of the country. As it turned out, these boys were the snobby brats of some high ranking political persons who had the power to do things such as remove a family from the country. The only reason they hadn't done it to Terrel was because his parents were much more powerful.

And yet, Leila was at the bottom of this heap, in a family of simple commoners with very, very little power to do anything. As the boys threatened her with this action, and she heard the threat, Leila slipped to her knees, head tilted forward as she stared at the ground in utter shock. Leila was terrified, unable to move or defend herself, giving the bullies the perfect opportunity to beat Leila into a pulp. And yet…they had different plans in mind, as they had been eyeing her. After they had beaten Leila into submission, one of decided to reveal that it was they who caused Flavia to commit suicide. These news made Leila snap out of her state of shock and infuriated her. She was *this* close to beating them all to a pulp until she remembered their earlier promise to export her parents out of the country. She submit to the group of boys. As they were about to have their way with her, Leila heard footsteps thundering behind her, just as she fell unconscious.

Leila awoke to find herself lying in a bed in the infirmary, bumped and bruised from the bullies' beating. Examining her surroundings, she came to notice Terrel sitting on the edge of his seat beside her hospital bed, and her eyes widened in fear as she immediately begged him to not tell anyone about the bullying, but Terrel was hesitant. After a moment, he simply asked why.

Leila explained everything. Her heritage, the bullying, what the boys had threatened to do, her feelings for him, Flavia's feelings for him, and what had happened between Leila and Flavia, and Terrel simply listened in silence.

Leila sobbed, begging Terrel to help her, yet he said nothing.

The next day, Leila went to school terrified, keeping her eyes wide and searching for the band of bullies. Went she arrived at the school's gates, she found Terrel there, waiting for her, and he gave her a job. To be a bodyguard--well, to be one of a few bodyguards, but to be his personal bodyguard. She would practically become part of his family, and the band of bullies would no longer be an issue, and there would be no threat to her family.

Leila was overjoyed. She accepted the job, and went on to the school proper with her mood lifted and with the confidence that the hunter had become the hunted. When she saw those bullies....

Along with being protected from the bullies, Leila also recieved extra training as being a part of Terrel's family's personal guard, training with the other guardsmen and women.

As the two spend their time at Signal, they became very close to one another, much closer than before. But not romantically. They never mentioned what had happened in the infirmary. And as the days went by, Leila had noticed that there was no sign of the bullies. And she noticed a much more positive air in the halls of Signal Academy. She asked Terrel about it constantly, but he simply smiled knowingly. In the end, The rest of Leila and Terrel's time at Signal was peaceful and very enjoyable, and they graduated together to head to Beacon!

Relationship[]

Diana Fritillary - Her leader and partner. She finds her smart, and a little too updated to everything around her for a girl who usually is 70% staring only at her laptop. She usually judge everything Diana does, to her eyes, Diana's antics and well about everything is suspicious and interesting. Leila purposely chose her as her partner in Beacon.

Gaea Buckwheat - One of Leila's teammate. Leila thinks Gaea talks a little too much about how Terrel is a terrible person to every girl who has a chance to date him. She thinks Gaea's pretty, but her behaviour in contrast to her looks is intriguing.

Terrel Couronne - One of Leila's teammate and one of her most important person in her life, he is her best friend. Leila guards him with her life. Being best friends with him, has made her having trouble with seeing his faults and bad decisions. She will defend him even though if they are in the wrong, and she will not realize it.

Time Skip; Today[]

After the Battle of Beacon, Leila moves to Atlas with a few friends since their home in Vale is destroyed, also having heard that her family moved to Atlas as well after the attack on Vale by the Grimm. She grew her hair long, making her stand out more giving her a beauty model vibe when looking at her. Some of her friends might not recognize immediately at first glance.

Abilities[]

Leila is an expert in hand to hand combat, she would rather use her fist more than weapons. Her gloves are infused with dust to match her fighting style. Her fighting style is Baguazhang and Piguaquan based Chinese martial arts.

She is also good at stealth, and uses parkour as a means of travel.

Semblance: Attribute Switching[]

As the title says, Leila can switch her attributes to best suit the situation. After using her semblance it goes back to her original attributes. Think of it like using an item in a game that will reset your stats, and you will have to reorganize them into your liking. Another good example is that it works similarly like people who are blind, but it heightens there other senses. The attributes she can switch are: Sight, Hearing, Strength, Speed, and Defense.

When she activates her semblance, her hair glows white and her eyes glows red. Like a white mouse.

Some examples are:

Leila can sacrifice her sight for a boost in hearing. Meaning she can get her sight to only see things black and white or be completely blind, but her hearing will be strong enough to see in coming attacks from enemies in the dark.

She can also sacrifice her hearing to boost her sight. Meaning she can keep up with an attack she can't regularly keep up with and can see a bit further than normal, but she will be deaf.

She can also sacrifice her speed to boost her strength. Meaning she can smash rocks with a punch or can cripple a hunters aura, but she will be slow.
