Obsidian Lector is the biological father of Ampere Zulleo, a graduate of Beacon Acadamy, and leader of the mercenary group known as The Kraahkan Legion.
Appearance[]
He is in incredible shape for a man of his age. Although past his prime, he still is as physically fit as a twenty-five-year-old. He is rather built and tone, with a golden cream tan showing how often he goes outside. With a perpetual scowl on his face and piercing blue eyes, he can be rather unpleasent to look at. He once had dirty blonde hair that was just above his shoulders, but he has recently shaved it off, leaving his scalp bare.
He often wears a black robe that obscures most of his features. When in combat, he takes it off, revealing the rest of his attire. He wears a tight, black, long-sleeve shirt with a grey T-shirt and a Kevlar vest underneath. On his legs are matching combat pants and steel-toed, combat boots. A pair of black, fingerless gloves cover his hands. A grey gun holster with his emblem, two blade pointing up, on it in black is worn on his torso. A black belt is wrapped around his waist which he puts the hilt of his weapon when it is not in use. The blades of his weapon are sheeved on his back.
Personality[]
He considers himself to be the greatest swordsman of all time, and his skills seem to back up his claim. He is focused and unpredictable, always seems to be four or five steps ahead of his opponent. He has dedicated himself to the art of the sword, and he constantly refines his technique. He also can be rather obsessive about this, often nit-picking the flaws of his executions. He hates the fact that he is getting slower because of his age. Ruthless, he will do just about anything to achieve his goals, even kill. He will not hesitate to use all his knowledge and power to be victorious, and he will resort to dirty tricks if the fight is not going his way.
Yet he has shown to be loving and affectionate, as his ex-wife,Florr Zulleo Greywolf, can vouch. He can be quite protective of those he loves. He will even risk his own life. However, this side of him is rarely seen, as he has given up on finding true love after leaving Florr.
One of his biggest personality traits is that he hates being betrayed. This trait makes him become sadistic when it happens, wanting to cause his betrayers as much pain as possible. Since they both agreed never to have children, he sees Florr having his child, Ampere Zulleo, as an act of betral. Therefore, he wants her to suffer intensely.
His biggest flaw is his pride. Often, he will toy with his opponent, show them how good he is as a swordsman, and make defeat seem inminent. However, pride often blinds him, causing him to underestimate his opponent. This has caused him to make mistakes, even getting his weapon knocked out of his hand.
Ultimately, he is one guy that you don't want to cross.
Weapons[]
His primary weapon is an assembly extending swordstaff (AES) known as the Typhon. Unlike most weapons, it does not transform. Rather, it comes in three parts, the hilt, which is of standard size for a single-bladed sword, and two blades. The two bases of the hilt are magnetic and has a compartment in the center of it that can house Dust crystals. This allows him to change the physical properties of the blades. Typically, he uses either fire, electricity, or impact dust crystals. The bases of the blades are polarized to be attracted to the bases when their magnetism is activated. Like the name suggests, the blades can extend, changing their lengths from two feet to two and a half feet, with two feet being the default. By changing the blades' size, he changes the fighting style needed to use his weapon, making him incredibly unpredictable. The blades can also be hold separate from the hilt, thanks to grips on the base of each. Buttons on the grips change the size of the blades in sequence fashion. The hilt can also be used as a ranged weapon, pulling magnetic metals toward him. However, it can't fire dust attacks.
His secondary weapon is a standard desert eagle that takes 9mm rounds. It is mainly used for cover fire purposes.
Abilities[]
His swordsman skills are highly advanced, due to his constant refinement and training. He is well trained in all eight styles of Shahr'Kaii. He is one of the best swordsman in Vale, but it is a bold stretch to say that he's the best. He can slay an entire mass of Grimm relying on just his swordsman skills alone. He also possesses great strength, able to lift 650 lbs. in a military press. He also is quite fast and agile, also due to constant training. He is also highly skilled in unarmed combat, able to disable opponents with relative ease. He has decent aim, but only because he doesn't want to be limited by close quarters combat, yet it does take him a few minutes to line up a shot, especially with a moving target.
One of the few weaknesses he seems to have is his pride. Often, he will underestimate his opponents. This is especially evident when he is facing those of equal or superior fighting skills. It often takes him by complete surprise when a fight turns against him. Another flaw is that he doesn't seem to know when to give up. He would fight with two broken limbs if it meant victory. Also, his X-rays reveal that most of his skeleton has years of healed damage. While it makes him tougher, it also makes him slightly less maneuverable. He also doesn't have a well-developed aura. This is primarily due to him preferring to take down his opponents through sheer skill.
Fighting style[]
He takes a rather offensive fighting style that combines all eight of the Shahr'Kaii styles with the backbone of it being Kav'Rou, the most aggressive style of Shahr'Kaii. Kav'Rou mainly utilizes strong kinetic strikes and chaotic movements. His style mainly focuses on intimidating and tormenting his opponents. It is meant to completely overwhelm them, tearing down their mental state and making them more prone to mistakes. It also incorporate a great deal of punches, shoves, and kicks. This makes him incredibly unpredictable in combat.
The main flaw in this technique is that it does very little to an opponent with absolute focus and is able to power through his mental breaking. He can still beat his opponents without mentally breaking them, but it takes much longer to do so, and he often has to resort to using dirty tricks to end the fight.
Aura[]
His aura is white in color and changes his eyes to yellow with a red outline around the irises when he uses his Semblance. Although he has developed it to a certain degree, it does not posses anything beyond that of your average Huntsman.
Semblance[]
His Semblance is Power Strike. It allows him to channel his Aura to create an incredible strike that is incredibly difficult to successfully block. This strike can be used to smash through rock as well as break through an opponent's defenses. It can also be applied to ranged attacks as well as channel dust. It appears as a two-dimensional slash comprised of either fire or electricity. This slash is between two and two and a half feet.
However, due to the fact that it uses Aura to power it, the strikes are very exhaustive. They can only be done up to twice in succession and up to ten times a day, depending on how much Aura he uses to power his strikes. Excessive use of it can lead to sever muscle fatigue. It also requires at least three minutes to fully charge. Plus, using dust with it causes even more strain on him.
Outside of Combat[]
He can be quite the socialist, able to make almost anyone his ally in a relatively short period of time. He is also a great manipulator, able to make others do as he wishes without even raising a hand. He is also very intelligent, knowing a variety of subjects from computers and electronics to art and literature. However, he tends to let anger get the best of him at times, making him somewhat unstable.

Backstory[]
Abandoned as an infant, Obsidian Lector was left on the welcome mat of Victor Kay, a well known huntsman and martial artist. Seeing that he had no one, Kay took him in and raised him as his own. When, he was 3, Obsidian began to show the desire and talent for martial arts and the art of the sword, so Kay began to train him. Kay found that Obsidian's skills were developing fast, and told him that he was destined for greatness. Fueled by his master's praise, Obsidian pushed himself harder and harder with each day.
By the time Obsidian was fourteen, his master felt it was time for him to be in a learning environment of his peers, so he sent him to Sanctum Academy. However, few students were even at his level of skill. This led him to become arrogant of his skills, so whenever he lost in a fight, he would get steamed. Often this led to him training harder, but on rare occasions, he lashed out. One time he stabbed a fellow students hand. He would have cut it off as well if the other students and faculty members hadn't stopped him. Kay had to put his hands in casts for 6 months to teach him humility.
When he was sixteen, as a bit of fun, Obsidian went to a fortune teller. She told him things that only he knew about. Once he believed that she was the real deal, she told him that he would become a great warrior, one of the best. She also warned him never to have a child for his own offspring will lead to his undoing. Frightened after hearing this, he vowed to never have children. A week later, he assembled his weapon, Typhon, using his Semblance, Power Strike.
At seventeen, he graduated from Sanctum and went to Beacon. There, he met his wife, Florr Zulleo. By age 21, he graduated from Beacon first in his class. He joined the Vale army shortly after that. A year later, he and Florr were married.
After they were married, both moved in to a small house in Vale, perfect for two people who were just starting out. He also made her vow never to have children. She agreed, but fate would tell him otherwise.
At age twenty-six, Obsidian found out that Florr was pregnant and that he was the father. Outraged by the news, but still deeply in love with her, he took her on a false camping trip to the Mountains to celebrate. Once settled there, he had her drugged, causing her to fall asleep. He then left he to die out in the harsh wilderness. People began to notice that Florr was missing, but whenever anyone asked about her, he would say that she was killed by Grimm while he was out gathering firewood.
It came to his surprise that Florr actually survived the mountain. When his commanding officer in the army found out about this, he had Obsidian dishonorably discharged. Unfortunately before he left, Obsidian decapitated his CO and put his head on a pike outside the military base.
Obsidian then formed the Kraahkan Legion, a shadowy group of mercenaries who will do any job if the price is right. It took him four years to fully establish it. When he finished, he went to his former master, Victor Kay, in an effort to convince him to join the group. Unable to swayed him, the two fought. It was only after Obsidian broke Kay weapon that he was finally able to defeat him. Before he delivered the final blow, Kay apologized for his unwillingness to see what he had become and his failing him. Obsidian replied that Kay didn't fail him and killed him. He then buried Kay right by his favorite tree. He mourned for eight months.
Still remembering Florr's betrayal to him, Obsidian began to seek her out, using the resources gathered from the Kraahkan. He found her at age 43, as well as found out that she got remarried to a fauness and had another son with him. Wanting to cause as much pain as he could to her, he had her youngest son captured, knowing that she and his son would follow. He took her youngest to an old warehouse, where he had him strapped to a metal chair. Then, he waited until, just on cue, his son, Ampere Zulleo, came crashing in the window. To his surprise, however, Ampere was alone, so he sent his goons to stall him while he waited for Florr. He was amazed by how skilled Ampere was as he took down his henchmen. He was even more impressed when he cut off his own arm when he was pinned and took down the rest of them by shocking the ground. After Ampere asked him why would he kidnap his brother, Obsidian replied that it was was to get to him and Florr, to watch them in suffer as the last remnace of her new husband fade to oblivion. Then, the police arrived with Florr, and arrested Obsidian and his associates.
He spent a full year in prison before his organization, the Kraahkan Legion, broke him and their other members out by creating a massive jailbreak. He has since stayed in the shadows, gathering intel from various sources. Finally, he hired a group of thieves to further test the skills of Ampere and his brother. To his surprise, two others joined the fight. Seeing as this was a lost cause, he called the police anomalously, getting the four of them arrested. Obsidian now waits for the time to strike again.
Relationships[]
Victor Kay: A father to him, Kay was his master. Kay took him in when he had no one. He still regrets having to kill him.
Florr Zulleo Greywolf: Whatever feelings of love for her is gone. He wants nothing more that to make her suffer for her betral.
Ampere Zulleo: A blight to him. Ampere represents the betral that his ex-wife committed against him. He will not stop his pursuit of Ampere until he is dead.

- His first name 'Obsidian' is a type of volcanic rock. Black in color, it is also known as volcanic glass for its glassy luster.
- His last name are a reference to Hanibal Lector (Silence of the Lambs).
- He is an allusion of the Titan, Cronus, from Greek mythology.
- His fighting style is based heavily on that of Exar Kun from the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
- His personality is also based on a combination of Exar Kun and Tylon from Kung Fu Panda.
