Weapon Specifications[]
Name: Odori Sonae
Classification: Perpetual Dust Ceremonial Fan(PDCF)
Weight: 5 lbs
Length: 30 centimeters
Derivative Design: Folding Fan
Details: The Odori Sonae is built using the same base design as the Unari no Midori Ryuujin. However, unlike the predecessor, Odori Sonae is a ceremonial fan, not design to directly deal damage.
The twenty spokes at every fold of the fan remains, however, the sheet metal has been replaced with light but durable kevlar. The twenty spokes, instead of being short-barreled shotguns, are actually Dust containers, that can release the Dust through a small port at the end facing out.
By waving the fan, and pressing the end facing inwards of a spoke or two, one can release the Dust slowly. Generally, this is done during a wave, to send a Dust based attack flying, although one doesn't have to activate the Dust. The Dust can be activated at a later time, if the user so desires.
And on the defensive, the user can block projectiles with the kevlar that replaces the paper(or metal, in terms of a battle fan). However, the kevlar is a flexible material, and not sharp. One can not cut someone with this weapon.
All in all, this wepaon is rather versatile in terms of how one can use the Dust, but in terms of physical combat, this is a defense based weapon. Blocking projectiles and swords are one thing, slicing someone is another.
The fan is also designed rather decoratively. The kevlar is white, with a red flower pattern on it, while the spokes and the end pieces being gold in color. On the pivot point(the end facing inwards), there is a red ribbon tied there.
