Personality: Reserved and shy, but vicious when provoked. He has a nervous habit of unknowingly shredding whatever is in his hands when his past gets brought up. Pearle gets anxious around needles and thin sharp objects based on his past. His fighting style is not unlike a tiger’s onslaught. Pearle prefers more of a smothering attack of slashing strikes. He has PTSD-like symptoms, but doesn't exhibit full-on PTSD behavior.
Appearance/Attire: Black full beard, retractable, razor sharp claws that he will use in close quarters. Has a scar across his right cheek from battling Grimm. Nearly always has a sorrowful and cautious look on his face. When he doesn't, his mood is more witty and quippy. Wears a hooded cloak that shimmers like Abalone shells over a black t-shirt with the phrase “Neither Dead nor Alive” written across it in Latin.
Weapon: “Purgatory’s Reckoning,” dual silver axes with the Greek letter Alpha on one and Omega on the other. They combine to create a double-barrel shotgun. Semblance: “Astral Warrior” Codenamed- "Gem": When activated, Gem will seemingly emerge out of his Physical body and they both alongside one another. Pearle named it Gem, and it looks identical to Pearle but is more similar to Sun's clones physically. When Pearle’s aura drops to one-third, Gem will dissipate. Gem receives full damage from other projectile/projecting weapons, like Velvet’s projection weapons, Blake's clones, or Sun’s clones. However, regular strikes to it transfers a 1/4 damage to Pearle’s aura and the Gem takes 3/4 damage. It is half as strong as Pearle offensively and twice as strong defensively. Pearle’s Gem fights alongside him as a defender to compensate for Pearle’s lack of defensive strategy. It must stay within two arms' lengths of Pearle or it will lose power exponentially and dissipate after four arms' lengths.
Background: When he was 4, Pearle was kidnapped by an extremist scientific faction of the White Fang that operated in Haven. He was experimented on and subjected to extreme stress conditions. The experiments were performed in hopes to create a weapon to turn the tide of the resistance movement. The tests he was subjected to tested his reflexes, eyesight, hearing, and immune system. Pearle's grey eye was a result of one of said tests. At age 8, Pearle finally escaped, after a power outage in the facility shut down all of the door locks and lights. After a brief time, the scientific group was shut down and silenced for their crimes against multiple test subjects. Pearle was the only survivor of the experimentation. His experience terrified him so much after he realized that his Semblance had been formed during the experiments, he very reluctantly activates his Semblance in a fight unless he is at an extreme disadvantage. He thinks that he might turn evil from using it consistently. After he escaped, he fled to his home, a nearby village just outside of Haven to find his family had been slaughtered. He saw his whole village had been burnt to the ground. Continuing to flee, Pearle found himself at a shack owned by an old, retired Huntsman on the edge of Vale. The Huntsman became intrigued after hearing Pearle's story. He taught Pearle how to fight Grimm and began teaching him aura when, a few days before his 13th birthday, the huntsman died, leaving Pearle with a shimmering cloak that Pearle continues to use to this day. He joined Signal Acadamy when he turned 13 where he met Amber Vulcan and forged "Purgatory's Reckoning." Then he applied for Beacon and was accepted at 17. He continues to lead Team PALE after the fall of Beacon The team was practicing outside of Vale when the school fell. Feeling obligated, Hue now leads Team PALE to stop the White Fang from attacking towns and villages and spreading fear across Haven and Mistral.

Trivia: Pearle's name is associated with a clam's pearl. Gem, the name he gave his Astral Warrior, was chosen because it's a synonym for his namesake. He is currently in a relationship with Amber Vulcan, another member of Team PALE.
