Name: Phalanx
Classification: Quad Belt-Fed Suppressive Machinegun(QBSM)
Weight: 20 kilograms
Length: 1.65 meters
Derivative Design: Machinegun
Details: The Phalanx is an intimidating weapon, especially if you are staring cross-eyed at the four barrels thrusted in your face.
The weapon has two main components to it. The first half is a backpack that the user must wear. This is an armored pack, that carries all the ammunition inside. The ammunition is held in belts, which are then fed down on both sides of the pack, towards the second component, the machine guns.
The machine guns are worn along the outside of the forearms, with the end of the barrel about two inches out from the hands. Each side has two machine guns, sitting side by side. The place where the belt-fed ammunition comes from is loaded into the rear of the machine guns, near the elbow. Each machine gun has a fire rate of 20 rounds per second, totaling at 80 rounds a second with all four machine guns blasting.
Where the ammunition belts run between the backpack and the machineguns, is an armored pipe, so that the belts don't break due to someone hitting the belt.
And if anything happens to get close to the user, they can punch using the barrels of the machine guns, and even fire point blank. However, the sheer power and recoil of the machine guns prevent firing on the move, else the user would imbalance themselves.
Also, the machineguns do have a problem with over heating, as the weapon would have been too heavy to include any method of cooling the barrels, asides from being air cooled over time. About thirty seconds of continous fire would render the barrels far to hot, and most likely burn the user's arms.
Trivia[]
