Rosetta & Gemma, classified as a "Shield Trigger Shot Blade" (STSB), is Vesta Lionheart's weapon of choice.
Description[]
Rosetta & Gemma are two separate parts of the same weapon. Rosetta is the blade with the shotgun while Gemma is the shield attaches to a band on her arm. Together they can be used in four different forms. This weapon is based all around momentum and speed.
The first form is when the two parts are separate. This form is called Sword and Shield. This form is mainly used for travel purposes. The shield itself can't fit on the sword while it is in the sheath so it goes on the arm band.
The second form is when the shield is attached to the pump. This form is called Blade. This form is used for close range combat while the shield acts as a guard for the wielder's hands. In this form the shotgun is still folded up but the shield is in place for the pump. From this form they can switch to the last two forms.
The third form is when the shotgun folds out and the blade pulls in toward the shield so It dosn't interfere with the barrel of the shotgun. This form this form is called Shotgunblade. This form is used for mid to close range combat. The reach of the blade is shortened but now the shotgun can be used giving you more range than before. Now the pump can be used to pump the next shot. The pump can either be pumped manually or through certain swings or thrusts. An example of this would be when you swing the blade fast enough in any direction the pump will be pushed forward and if you fire it afterwards the pump will fall back making the pump making through the pumping cycle. Another example would be when it is used to thrust forward the pump goes forward and when the blade is pulled back the pump will also go back. Without enough momentum or speed you would have to pump it manually.
The fourth form is when the handle pulls closer to the trigger to shape like a shotgun. This form is called Shotgun. This form is used to keep the recoil of each shot down now that you hold it with two hands and to be a bit more accurate with each shot. The pump in this form can only be pumped manually.
If the shield was far away from the user it sacrifices three of the forms so it is vital to keep the shield on you at all times. The shield is the key to using this weapon to its maximum potential.
