The Shriggen and Marquiteer are two Grimm whose closely related power make them inseparable. The Shriggen creates the puppets, the Marquiteer uses them.

Appearance: []

The Shriggen is a large balloon like Grimm, with a large and fat worm like body, with pores releasing its gas, Chemical TGE-90(Toxic Grimm Exhaust).

The Marquiteer is inside the Shriggen, appearing from the beasts back as it spreads its hands with their + shaped puppetsticks, all 6 of them. The Marquiteer has what can be seen as a top hat and fancy suit on, and what looks like a playmask, showing Tragedy most of the time. Underneath is a rare sight, but frightening nonetheless. A melted, deformed human face that oozes and bubbles hides underneath, making it instill fear in its enemies.

The Shriggen has no real face, instead the Marquiteer is its face, though it does have a mouth in its front that opens up and will swallow things the size of a motorcycle.

For armor, the Shriggen has parts of armor around its pores and “Rings” in its body, as well as its facial area. The Marquiteer has armor on its face, forming the mask, as well as its “collar”, the white fluff you see on fancy suits, as well as its buttons and seams, making it seem as if its wearing a fancy suit. The arms and puppet crosses have armor on them, with the arms covered by elbow patches and a “glove” that covers both the hand and the entire cross.

The Shriggen excretes GTE-90, a toxic chemical weapon that can cause serious illness, death, or even make people “Turn”, becoming ravaging feral savages, which can be controlled by the Marquiteer via its puppet string hands, which fire off strings. Just one can allow control, and the string is hard to cut. GTE-90 has been harvested before, but has been banned due to its horrifying nature, but the White Fang has used it a few times, creating what could be described as zombies.

Once infected, the persons eyes will glow red, as well as start to turn black from the point of the strings attachment, eventually turning them into their own slaves. Though if you do manage to kill the flying Shriggen and Marquiteer, if the gas and poison has reached the brain, the person is too far gone, but if there is just a shred of humanity left, the disease will reverse, flooding back into the needle that is on the edge of the string.

The gas itself is toxic, so gas masks and fully bodysuits are needed to fight them, and to top it off, the gas is highly combustible, and even in small amounts, they can still burn up anything in its vicinity.

The poison from the Marquiteer and the gas both work on a system of overall consumption. If you have only breathed in a little, you are less likely to turn if the needle hits you, as the gas has not breached your system and leaves you for the most part a lot harder target than someone whos inhaled a lot. People who use auras as well have an advantage, as their soul leaves them a large piece of humanity, but the venom, if not treated soon, will actually EAT away at the soul until the person is totally gone.

When turned fully, they look like the person was just burnt to a crisp and put on clothing that was just burnt a bit. These zombie like slaves possess the strength and special powers(minus semblance and aura) the host had, and act like savages, rushing their foes and scratching them with their newly formed claws and ripping off flesh. Their saliva as well has traces of GTE-90 in it, making them carriers for the virus.

Also as an added difficulty, they both can function independently, but they will die without the other. So if the Shhriggen dies, the Marquiteer, though attached, can use its arms as legs as well as still fight, but will still slowly die as it has lost its major systems. If the MARQUITEER dies, however, it can still be reborn, as after it dies, its body retreats into the Shriggen, covering the Shriggen's heart and will slowly recover, eventually being ready to fight again.

Another noteworthy thing to mention, the more strings attatched to a subject, the greater control it has over them, to the point if it uses an entire hand(4 strings), it can actually use the person as a conduit and even SPEAK using it. Though it cant speak on its own, it scans through the subjects brain and finds out how to speak basic English, but the connection and knowledge is removed when the connection is severed.

It is also important you remove the needle from the person, as it still will pump whatever poison it has left into the person, and in rare cases, can still be controlled, though very limitedly, by the Grimm if the target is corrupted enough.

Weakness:[]

  • These are NOT TO BE MESSED WITH unless you have a fully covering bodysuit with a gas mask, as well as a melee weapon, as the gas will catch fire if you fire a gun, but specialized anti-combusting rounds have been made, as well as guns, to fire without the combusting of all the gas, making them the perfect tool for hunting them down.
  • Though imposing at a large size, its rather weak, though the Shriggen and Marquiteer both have armor, they both do have weak spots.
  • The Shriggens weak points are inside its mouth, as well as its pores, where they open up to inhale gas to release GTE-90, its just wide enough to launch an explosive shell or grenade in, where it leads to one of its multiple “Lungs”, each pore has its own, and can take a grenade blast, but will break soon after, making the pore useless. The mouth is also a key spot to hit, as the beast heart, surrounded by GTE-90, is a juicy target, if you can pass the tounge and aim a well placed sniper round, the heart will explode, and the GTE-90 inside will combust, creating a chain reaction to explode the beast from the inside.
  • The Marquiteer also has a weak spot, but it is not advised as it does revive itself and will cover the Shriggen heart. If you hit in the back of its head, it has little armor there, and will cause major damage. It also cannot regrow limbs, so if you manage to cut off the arms, it cannot regenerate them, and any controlled people that are attached to said arm will be freed, unless they have more than one string.

Trivia:[]

  • The thought of this came about after browsing some small digital shorts on YouTube, specifically one that I cant remember the name of, but is basically a short 3d film about rabbits replacing humans in WWI, and a young harmonica playing hare. After seeing the Gasmask monster(spoiler; its another rabbit who plays the harmonica, basically his own self that he just shot, and plays on said harmonica as he lost his due to his marshal throwing it in the mud, and gets shot himself, as the battle carries on(and on, what was the purpose of it allllllll? WHATS THE PRICE?! OF A MILE?!(Sabaton))) attack him, I thought of an idea. By using the idea of a zeppelin, the giant gummy worm from Black Ops 3 zombies, and this, I formed the Shriggen, but something was missing.
  • I later after my MCAS testing(where most of this is written, including the Thunderbird, because I'm bored and I have a alphasmart typewriter) thought of the idea of a jack-in-the-box, but couldn’t think of a way to make it move. Then it hit me after I started typing up the Shriggen stuff and thought about my next class, English, where we are doing Shakesphere. I thought about it, turned on my Grimm OC mode(Basically my dark, edgy, and all around creepy as all hell mode, which is where all my evil ideas for Grimm and Antagonists go), and made a tuxedo wearing Grimm attatched to a floating worm cloud, excreting gasses, and the Shriggen and Marquiteer was born.
  • On the names, Shriggen was the result of me calling it The Shroud, the hidden, and eventually Shriggen.
  • For Marquiteer, I just thought of the French surname(correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not from Europe dammit), and thought it would sound like something cool and theater-y, and then realized it would make no god damn sense on its own, so I shoved the word Puppeteer into the mix, and you got two nonsensical words for names, The Shriggen and Marquiteer.
