Appearance[]
His long hair reaches his shoulders, black and greying in a gradient from black roots to grey fringes. He stands roughly 5 ft tall, with slight arched back bending forward. His skin a pale white and wrinkled. A pair of gold rimmed spectacles rests on his long nose. His eyes are a dull reddish color.
He wears a labcoat, though its color is never consistant each day, however overall it's a red color. His pants are a simple beige color and black shoes wearing a white undershirt. He carries around a simple looking cane with a rounded top.
Personality[]
Professor Latium is a thinker and comes up with his own theories on how things work and tests them. He analyses everything around him, whether it be interesting or not, and stores that information. In his old team, he was their main Strategist. He came up with their battle plans and was 99% of their problem solving resources.
He is a confident person, and rarely shows any of his negativity He is assertive and charismatic, but harshly rationalizes situations which comes off as rude or just plain hurtful. He knows he isn't completely heartless in this respect, but when shit happen, he will do what is rational in that situation. This has lead him to terrible outcomes in the past.
Prof. Latium simply enjoys taking on any challenge, prefering harder ones. He will gather all the required materials he believes he needs in order to achieve his goal or challenge no matter the cost. He considers his job teaching students a challenge, and will teach them to the best of his abilities to pass on the information he has gained on his chosen subject of Dust.
He will do whatever he feels he needs to in order to help his students learn and complete his assignments. He loves teaching so much, he sometimes assigns random bits of homework, not even to just his oown students, but to other teachers as well. He always seems to have a supply of worksheets on hand and regularly gives them out. He doesn't even ask for them back most of the time and forgets about it. If they bring it back to him, then he'll grade it...though it will likely not be worth any actual recorded grade or points for class.
History[]
"I don't feel the need of telling my entire life's story so here's an Abridged version. it should satisfy your needs."
- I Graduated from Beacon academy with my fantastic Team, IVRY(Ivory).
- For the next couple of decades after graduation, my team and I took part in many thrilling and life threatening missions and completed them with flying colors
- To me personally, we were the best of the best. No mission was impossible for us...Ahh those were the days...I can remember Yale being her usual difficult self... oh umm, Ehem. Anyway.
- We were on a roll, our fighting styles complimented eachother and our teamwork was top notch...if only that had been enough for what came next.
- We were sent on a search and rescue mission. A couple of younger teams had gone missing off the sourthern coast, on an island that they had been assigned to secure and clear out the Grimm. When we arrived...they were all either dead or dying.
- My team and I....we tried to save who we could but even us experienced huntsment were over whelemed. Isis and Ragalia...they were a set of twins, lost their lives. Myself and Yale managed to escape the island and never went back.
- After that, Team IVRY was done. Never spoke to my partner again aftershe moved back to her home in Mistral. I assume she puts the blame all on myself which is alright.
- From there I went on few Solo Missions and primarily focused everything else on my own personal research with Dust.
- I was offered a job here at Beacon. Now here I am, teaching the next fantastic generation of hunters and huntresses, in the art of Dust, probably leading most of them to their untimely deaths.. "ehem.

Weapons[]
Dust Infused Labcoat (DIL) God's Robe
It's just a labcoat infused heavily with Dust. It creats the element of Dust used for Combat. His labcoat comes in different colors and mixtures of colors for whatever he is feeling, though generally he uses a Red and/or Brown labcoat.
Bladed Whip Cane (BWC)
It is a normal looking cane that extends in a whip-like manner on a wire that has multiple blades attached to it. The blades were stacked ontop of eachother and made up the body of the cane. It is a black-to brown in color with a sphereical silver pommle.
Semblance[]
Materia Lubricosus. This semblance allows one to turn solid natural materials into a sticky substance. It aslo allows for the opposite, able to harden similar substances, such as quicksand, into harder substances. Volckanis has had years to develope his Semblance into what it is today It can turn Dirt and Wood into this sticky substance quite easily and in large amounts. It is slightly more difficult to turn Stone, Asphalt and Concrete into this sticky substance and it's difficult but not impossible to turn Metal and Obsidian into that substance.
Through the power of Dust, he can augment and control this sticky substance into his combat style. Fire and or Orange dust turn the substance into a lava-like substance. Ice dust turns the sticky substance into a cold one that isn't sticky but can be harded quicker than other dust types and when solid it becomes slippery.
Gavity dust makes the substance weigh down his target, as well as adding a Quicksand effect to it. Earth dust allows for high control over the substance, able to create shapes out of it like various sized hands that grab onto things. Other dust types don't appear to have much effect on the Substance. He uses those as normal.
Trivia[]
1. Volkanis is obviously referring to Volcanoes, which makes me think of blackened skies, red hot lava, and white ash. Now Latium is, in ancient times, a place in Rome with volcanic soil, highly fertile for agriculture.
2. I was thinking of making him a villainous character, but decided against it simply from not wanting to put the effort in explaining the evil I had in mind. So he's a good ol' professor.
