Overview[]
Wynter Barnes, is a medium sized brown-haired Hunter-in-Training who specializes in sniping and long ranged combat.
Appearence[]
Wynter stands at a little under average height, having a very strong athletic build. His light blue eyes always seem to be filled with curiosity and joy, they're complimented with his brown hair that is usually left messy. This overall makes him appear younger than he actually is.
Outside of the school uniform, he wears an over sized light blue hoodie that slightly envelops the young man. Underneath is a plain white shirt. For his lower-half he wears a pair of black combat pants and boots. He wears a pair of goggles that help him target opponents from afar, as well as a shoulder holster that houses his weapon in both forms. Around his waist is varying types of Dust ammo magazines.
Personality[]
Wynter is a happy-go-lucky young man with a distaste for reading and boring conversations, resulting in a tendency to mix up various things such as names.
Despite this, he enjoys getting any job done perfectly and believes risking big in order to win big. Wynter is a people person, admitting his own desires and goals from the get go; yet he makes it a personal rule of his to not use others to reach those goals, as well as not doing anything that will make him emotional.
In battle, he retains his happy personality, stating that he does not hate his opponents. Instead he uses any such conflict as experience, due to his repulsion of any studying, he leans toward a "learn as you go" approach to things.

Snowfall[]
Wynter's main weapon, in both forms it is Dust powder-operated. The Dust must be cycled to chamber the first round. Once the first round is fired, recycled Dust from the previous round forces the bolt back, seating a new round on its return forward, and continues to do so until the mag is empty.
It's first form is a sleek black sub-machine gun,standing around 62.7 cm with a cyclic rate of 120 rounds per minute. In this form the Dust cycle is quick and repetitive, removing much of the range of the weapon for quick attacks.
In it's second form, Snowfall can be elongated in both form and range until it begins to resemble a very basic sniper rifle. It stands at 187.5 centimeters and his a firing rate of 2 rounds per second. In this form the Dust cycle builds up more before firing, increasing it's power and lethality. More importantly, it's range is increased substantially from it's last form.

Fighting Style[]
Winter is a long range specialist, more content to allow others in the front lines while he stays back and picks off his opponents from behind. Using his semblance, Wynter creates a hard to navigate area, effectivly allowing him to pick off enemies with his rifle. In case of any threat that comes too close for his comfort, he usually relies on the sub-machine gun form of his weapon, spraying rounds at whoever threatens his position. If out of ammo, he will use the sniper form of Snowfall as a crude bludgeon, as well as attacking with just his fists and feet. Having no formal training in physical combat, the effectiveness of this is on chance of who he is facing.
Abilities[]
- Marksmanship- While not one of the greatest, Wynter can usually hit most targets from a long distance.
- Medical Knowledge- Due to his time spent in the hospital, Wynter has picked up some of the procedures and know how, on how to treat minor wounds and illnesses.
Aura[]
Wynter's Aura is a light blue color. It's has a high energy pool to draw from, used mainly for increased offense, senses, and speed.
Semblance - Absolute Zero[]
Wynter is able to decrease an area's temperature to near absolute zero, effectively flash freezing an area of roughly 15 ft. in diameter. The area becomes so cold that the moisture in the air immediately condenses and freezes on any objects in the zone. The selected area must be within eye sight of Wynter, and the farther away it is, the more draining it is to freeze. If well rested, Barnes can mange the feat two or three times in the span of an hour.
Backstory[]
Wynter or the boy who would be known as Wynter, was admitted to one of Vale's hospitals at the age of fourteen. Unconscious from wounds sustained by an apparent Grimm attack. Having no known files or identity, the child was treated under the name "John Doe". As the young man recovered, he began to regain consciousness. However, he could not remember anything from the moment he was brought it. The doctors ruled it as a side-effect from the trauma of the attack, and said that with time the young man may remember who he was with time. However, the young man seemed to take the information in stride, stating "If I'm going to be blank canvas, I might as well start adding some color."
Now going by the name "Joe" for the time being, the young man recovered and began to work off his debt to the hospital. Not out of being forced to, he didn't want to feel like he was useless or using the staff for his own needs. It was during this time he would meet one Buchanan Barnes.
A fellow patient at the hospital, Buchanan Barnes was an old man living off the money he had made in his youth as a gun for hire. Cranky and belligerent, him and Joe were always at odds with one another. This turned into an almost everyday thing, with the two becoming closer through their mutual snarks and banters. As well as Buchanan teaching the young man how to fine tune his marksmanship and general physical abilities. The cranky old man even went as far as purchasing parts for Joe's weapon and walking him through building Snowfall.
This went on for two years, with Buchanan eventually passing. It was a small gathering, as the old man hadn't had much people in his life. "Joe" took on the name Wynter Barnes in tribute to Buchanan, to continue on his legacy. However, to his surprise he was also left a substantial amount of money from the old man, with the rule that it only be used for Wynter to start a new life. Away from the hospital.
To this end, Wynter used some of the money to foot the bills needed to join one of the combat schools in the area: Beacon. It wasn't easy to get into, but with what he had been taught by the old man, he barely passed the prerequisites into such an institution. He has high hopes that he'll succeed in living out Buchanan's last wishes, as well as finally throwing some more color on to the blank canvas he is.

The old man was Wynter's only real friend in the hospital and his father figure. The two would often bicker and trade witty quips, as a form of affectionate arguing. Buchanan is the only reason that Wynter could start his new life, and for that, Wynter is eternally grateful. He will remember his friend for the rest of his life.
